Job Summary
Job: Cloud Architect
Salary: 87000
Location: West London (Heathrow)
Location: Hybrid 3 days per week in the office
We are looking for a highly experienced Cloud Architect who is both architecturally strong and hands-on in development.
This role is not a pure architect or governance role. The candidate must still actively write production code and design complex distributed systems.
The client specifically wants a small number of exceptional engineers rather than many average profiles.
The MUST HAVES for this role are:
- Strong AWS architecture and development experience
- Hands-on software development (Python Java )
- Building event-driven systems (Kafka EventBridge or similar)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Microservices architecture
- REST API design
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Containers (Docker / Kubernetes)
Most importantly candidates must demonstrate they can both design architecture and build it themselves.
Nice to Have
- Experience in aviation or travel technology
- Knowledge of AI / ML frameworks (TensorFlow PyTorch scikit-learn)
- Experience with observability tools (Datadog New Relic CloudWatch)
- Multi-cloud experience (Azure or GCP)
- AWS certifications
- Open-source contributions
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be:
- a senior engineer or architect who still codes daily
- comfortable designing complex distributed systems
- able to operate in large enterprise environments
- strong communicator who can influence technical direction
