PURPOSE:
The lot supervisor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and readiness in appearance of all vehicles made available for addition the grooming of the dealership premises along with supervising and staffing an adequate team to assist in the pick-up and delivery and cleaning of service customer cars when technicians have completed job.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Hire train motivate counsel and monitor the performance of the lot staff.
- Set up all lot staff work schedules.
- Maintain all new vehicle cleanliness as directed by sales manager.
- Maintain dealership premises as directed by sales manager.
- Detail and make ready for delivery according to vehicle delivery policies all vehicles sold by sales department.
- Fill all sold vehicles with gas.
- Advice sales manager of any problems with sold vehicle as soon as possible.
- Maintain adequate supply of chemicals needed to detail vehicles.
- Check in all new car arrivals assign stock number and complete stock card then advise sales manager of arrivals.
- Complete due bill on new vehicle arrivals and set up cars for service department to perform pre-delivery inspections.
- Upon pre-delivery inspection being completed a thorough detailing of the vehicle is to be performed.
- Supply each new vehicle with a set of new floor mats for that make and model when not supplied by the factory.
- Maintain and schedule enough staffing to accommodate service pick- up and deliveries.
- Guide and train lot staff in the procedures of dealership lot maintenance.
- Guide and train lot staff in the procedures of cleaning customer cars.
- Communicate to lot staff to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed.
- Work with sales manager to develop and implement required minimum standards for lot staff personnel.
- Recommend plans for improvement for lot personnel who fail to meet company minimum standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- At least one year of experience in an automotive repair facility.
- Excellent communication skills both in writing and in person.
