Your new role

As a Childrens Therapeutic Group Worker you will successfully co-facilitate a therapeutic group for primary school aged children who have experienced family violence or homelessness. A strong ability to relate well with children and in depth understanding of family violence and homelessness are important.

Required hours of work are 2-6pm on a Monday; hours are not negotiable.

Start date May 4 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the facilitation or co-facilitation of a variety of group programs for children in the Eastern Metropolitan Region including elements of planning preparation transport and the monitoring of participants pre and post group
  • Ensure administrative aspects of the groups are completed in a timely manner
  • Liaise with families of children engaged in the group programs

Your skills and experience
  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification and/or experience in line with the mandatory minimum qualification requirements for specialist family violence practitioners.
  • Understanding of family violence and its impact on children and families
  • Experience in the delivery of group work with children within the community sector preferably family violence or homelessness sector
  • Current drivers licence valid in Victoria
