The Enterprise Security office is seeking a Security Operations Controller under the supervision of the Senior Manager Enterprise Security aids in protecting people who work on or use the Metrolinx transit network using various security related technologies such as CCTV and Access Control as well as non-emergency security requests.
What will I be doing
- Processing of designated Customer Protective Services related requests to the reviewing collection cataloguing storage duplication documentation redacting video for specific purposes as directed and dissemination of video images gathered from designated Metrolinx CCTV systems for the purpose of supporting investigations including criminal risk management and operational matters.
- Only as required and very seldom may attend court on if/as required; to submit/provide evidence as it relates to CCTV images or footage liaising with lawyers contractors staff agencies regarding disclosure of video images; and liaising with various Police and security agencies for the purposes of providing CCTV images or footage
- Processing of requests related to providing access removing access monitoring alarms running & sharing of specific reports from designated Metrolinx access control systems.
- Ensuring any providing video & access control services are done in accordance with the standards set by Metrolinx and any / all applicable legislation while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality at all times
- When requested monitoring of and ensuring appropriate response to various alarms through systems such as but not limited to access control systems emergency alert alarm systems and fire / life safety systems.
- Proactive monitoring of Metrolinx properties via use of security technologies such as CCTV and Access Control systems.
- Conducting or assisting in audits of the functionality of CCTV and Access Control systems.
- When required or as directed receiving and responding to non-emergency security requests from both internal Metrolinx staff and the public while providing an excellent customer services experience in those interactions.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- High School diploma or equivalent / substantial work experience in a related field such as operations centers security law enforcement information technology computer science investigations customer service preference given to those with combined with educational & work experience in related fields.
- Valid Ontario Class G drivers license
- Excellent knowledge of computers and demonstrated experience or ability to learn to effectively and efficiently use CCTV & access control related software.
- Strong logical thinking skills and sound judgement for the purposes of conducting CCTV related investigations.
- Strong administration and organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for report writing; and highly developed customer service skills for dealing with internal and external customers;
- Computer literacy & effectiveness utilizing MS Office access and other common software applications.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of dissection and confidentiality as most dealings are of a confidential and sensitive nature.
- Required to successfully pass an Enhanced Security Clearance due to access to sensitive law enforcement related information.
- Required to adhere to Metrolinx CCTV & Access Control policies & all other company policies and procedures.
- Required to operate within the boundaries of all privacy legislation including but not limited to FIPPA
Shift Schedule - Shift Schedule for this position will be on a rotational core schedule.
Staff will be required to work a variety of shifts which will be based on GO Transits operational schedule for service and/or other operational needs. Staff will required to be able to work scheduled shifts any day of the week including civic or statutory holidays as the department is operational 365 days per year. All schedules will be developed and are subject to change as required due to operational needs within the parameters of the Collective Bargaining Agreement as this is a unionized role.
