Roots Nurseries has been a cornerstone in the Lancaster community since 1895 specializing in residential and commercial landscaping as well as retail and wholesale tree sales. With 100 acres planted in shade flowering and evergreen trees we are committed to integrity quality and customer care as we continue growing our landscaping and nursery services legacy.

What Youll Do as a Nursery Center Manager:

• Lead and grow the Nursery Center into a go-to destination for contractors and homeowners.
• Oversee daily Nursery Center operations including staffing scheduling and inventory management.
• Build train and motivate a reliable customer-focused team.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations and education on plant care and maintenance.
• Maintain plant health through watering pruning irrigation and pest management.
• Work with and maintain above-ground balled and burlapped (B&B) nursery stock as well as containerized plant material at our Nursery Center.

Our Ideal Nursery Center Manager:

• Experienced in Horticulture: 3 years of hands-on experience in garden center nursery operations landscaping or plant care. Must be able to identify tree and shrub species and confidently guide customers. Experience operating nursery equipment is preferred and a CDL A or B license is a plus.
• Leader & Builder: Demonstrates strong communication and leadership skills by training motivating and developing a team while establishing clear processes and expectations.
• Customer Service-Oriented: Passionate about helping customers building relationships and delivering an outstanding retail and contractor experience.
• Active: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing the physical aspects of nursery operations.
• Tech-savvy: Knows or can learn QuickBooks and POS systems.
