Job duties relating to this position include but are not limited to:
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Rules and By-Laws of the NYSPHSAA.
- Maintain daily practice plans for all team practices throughout the appropriate season.
- Understands the proper administrative chain of command and defers all requests or grievances through proper channels.
- No vulgar language.
- Maintains discipline and works to increase morale.
- Provide constructive feedback to the players on an individual basis as needed.
- Support develop and inspire players to foster growth through educational methods and positive reinforcement.
- Communication with the Athletic Director to help maintain and provide a respectful concise and productive evolution of the program and development of players.
- Provides proper safeguards and maintains accountability of assigned equipment. Required to submit notification to the Athletic Director for any equipment lost damaged returned or not returned within 24 hours.
- Completes paperwork on all disabling athletic injuries on proper forms and submits to the Athletic Director by the next school day.
- Oversees student assistants and statisticians for all respective athletic events.
- Provides Athletic Director with annual equipment requests for the upcoming season due at time of post-evaluation.
- Properly store and secure all equipment and facility areas after any activities.
- Supervise locker room before and after practice.
- Responsible for maintaining good public relations with news media parents officials volunteers and fans.
- Must contact the Athletic Director regarding any cancellations rescheduling of athletic events and weather-related cancellations within 24 hours of intended game day.
- Responsible for reporting scores and information after every winning contest to the Democrat & Chronicle and the appropriate varsity website.
- Oversees all fundraising and Booster Club events for their respective sport. Is required to report all fundraising activities to the Athletic Director for approval.
- Performs other duties which may be assigned by the Athletic Director.
