About the Role

Key responsibilities include:
Opening and closing the school premises as required ensuring security protocols are followed
Performing routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs
Monitoring and reporting larger maintenance issues to the site manager or leadership team
Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness across classrooms corridors and communal areas
Assisting with setting up rooms for events assemblies and school functions
Supporting health and safety compliance including regular checks of fire exits alarms and equipment
Responding promptly to urgent maintenance or safety issues
Supporting waste management recycling and general site upkeep
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in a caretaking premises or facilities role ideally in a school or similar environment
Be organised reliable and able to work independently
Possess basic DIY and maintenance skills with the ability to carry out minor repairs
Demonstrate a strong awareness of health and safety procedures
Be proactive flexible and able to respond to urgent issues promptly
Work collaboratively as part of a premises team
Be committed to maintaining a safe welcoming and functional school environment
