Job Title: Java Market Data Developer (Consultant)

Overview:
Bank of America is seeking a hands-on Java Market Data Developer to support its Market Data Engineering and Development team focused on building and enhancing real-time data platforms and integrations with leading market data vendors such as Bloomberg and LSEG/Refinitiv.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain high-performance Java-based market data applications and services
- Integrate and support vendor market data APIs (Bloomberg B-Pipe Refinitiv Elektron etc.)
- Build real-time data ingestion normalization and distribution pipelines
- Partner with trading quant and infrastructure teams to deliver low-latency data solutions
- Troubleshoot production issues related to market data feeds entitlements and distribution
- Optimize system performance scalability and reliability across market data platforms
- Contribute to architecture and design of next-generation market data systems
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of Java development experience in financial services
- Strong experience with market data systems and vendor APIs (Bloomberg LSEG/Refinitiv)
- Hands-on experience with real-time streaming and messaging technologies (Kafka Solace Tibco etc.)
- Solid understanding of market data concepts (pricing reference data symbology entitlements)
- Experience building low-latency high-throughput systems
- Strong debugging and production support capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Knowledge of FIX protocol or trading systems
- Exposure to Python for scripting or data analysis
- Familiarity with Linux environments and distributed systems
