Master student in the field of Production Engineering and Management (d/f/m) - Dual Sourcing Strategy

Your tasks and responsibilities
Evaluate the feasibility and strategic implementation of a Dual Sourcing Strategy within the civil aviation supply chain.
Conduct an in-depth analysis of the internal trade-offs balancing risk mitigation against procurement cost implications (e.g. loss of volume discounts and dual tooling/certification costs).
Examine the operational complexity of managing two independent suppliers including synchronized logistics and dual quality assurance processes.
Analyze the specific challenges of implementing dual sourcing in the aerospace sector considering low production volumes strict regulatory frameworks (EASA/FAA) and long product lifecycles.
Perform qualitative interviews with key procurement and logistics experts and carry out a quantitative Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
Develop a comprehensive Decision-Support Framework or a Maturity Model to guide the selection of commodity groups best suited for Dual Sourcing.
Desired skills and qualifications
Enrolled full-time student in the area of Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field of study
First practical experience in the field of aviation industry procurement and/ or supply chain is desirable
Fluent in English
