As an Adaptive consultant you will receive comprehensive support from the Simmons & Simmons team including a sponsoring Partner and a dedicated client team. Main purpose of the role:

  • Provide legal advice and support on structured finance transactions including repackaging and secured lending.
  • Draft review and negotiate complex financial documentation in line with MUFGs internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure smooth execution of transactions.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to structured finance and advise on implications.
  • Support cross-border transactions and liaise with MUFGs legal teams in Tokyo and other global offices.
  • Assist in risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to structured finance deals.


Person specification:

  • Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction.
  • 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in structured finance ideally with exposure to repackaging and secured lending.
  • Familiarity with banking and finance documentation and transaction structures.
  • Derivatives experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
