Main purpose of the role:
- Provide legal advice and support on structured finance transactions including repackaging and secured lending.
- Draft review and negotiate complex financial documentation in line with MUFGs internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure smooth execution of transactions.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to structured finance and advise on implications.
- Support cross-border transactions and liaise with MUFGs legal teams in Tokyo and other global offices.
- Assist in risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to structured finance deals.
Person specification:
- Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction.
- 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in structured finance ideally with exposure to repackaging and secured lending.
- Familiarity with banking and finance documentation and transaction structures.
- Derivatives experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
