The Assistant Vice President of Financial Management provides operational leadership and management for key financial functions at the St. Louis Federal Reserve. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees various functional areas within Financial Management which may include Procurement Central Finance Financial Reporting Analytics and the Finance Business Partner team. The Assistant Vice President plays a critical role in implementing financial policies ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting the strategic financial objectives of the Bank.
This role will work on-site from the St. Louis office.
Responsibilities
- Implements strategic initiatives for Financial Management functions ensuring alignment with Bank and System priorities
- Manages financial operations and provides oversight of assigned functional areas
- Supports utilization of Enterprise Resource Planning systems
- Coordinates budget preparation planning and forecasting processes
- Ensures compliance with internal and System financial guidelines
- Participates in risk assessment and management activities related to financial operations
- Represents the department in System-level working groups and committees as appropriate
- Develops and mentors staff promoting continuous improvement and professional growth
- Collaborates with business partners across the organization to provide financial expertise and guidance
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business administration or related field or commensurate experience; MBA and/or CPA preferred
- 10 years of progressive experience in finance accounting or related field including at least 5 years in a management role
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage multiple functional areas
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
- Experience with financial planning budgeting and reporting
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Understanding of financial controls risk management and compliance requirements
- Experience implementing or working with enterprise financial systems
- Knowledge of Federal Reserve Financial Accounting Manual (FAM) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred
- Experience with Workday and Ariba preferred
- Travel (10%)
