Responsibilities
- Lead and drive operational planning and execution to optimize manufacturing performance
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations to ensure alignment with production targets and business objectives
- Provide technical leadership to the production team including troubleshooting and process optimization
- Mentor and support frontline operators and supervisors to build capability and performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance engineering reliability and HSE teams to resolve operational challenges
- Develop review and continuously improve operating procedures and plant processes
- Ensure compliance with safety standards risk assessments and safe work practices
- Build develop and lead a high-performing production team through effective hiring training and coaching
- Support emergency response and incident management activities
- Guide operational teams during critical activities such as start-ups shutdowns and maintenance turnarounds
- Support commissioning and start-up activities including pre-startup safety and readiness planning
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety reliability and efficiency
- Drive initiatives that improve operational performance cost efficiency and plant reliability
- Champion process safety practices including management of change and operational readiness reviews
- Act as deputy for plant leadership when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or related discipline preferred)
- 5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing or process industry environment
- Prior experience in chemical polymer or related processing industries is advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in leading or supervising operational teams
- Strong leadership planning and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven ability to coach and develop technical teams
- Experience in plant start-up commissioning or procedure development is a plus
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or similar frameworks is beneficial
