Sr. Software Development Manager, AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery

We seek an experienced Software Development Manager with a background in developing delivering and supporting software services that provide simple solutions for a broad set of problems. You have a strong technical ability great communication skills and know-how to inspire your team to achieve bar raising results in a fast-paced environment. You have a track record of building and leading strong teams of talented engineers and you enjoy working with smart people. You will own your services and be able to make product decisions that balance competing priorities.

About the team
AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS) is a disaster recovery service provided by AWS that enables organizations to minimize downtime and data loss with fast reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications. DRS uses cost-effective AWS resources to maintain an up-to-date copy of source servers on AWS allowing for point-in-time recovery and failback to the primary site after an issue is resolved.


- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- 6 years of Software Engineer Software Developer or related occupational experience
- 3 years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
