Position Overview
TheQuality Control (QC) Inspector Night Shiftis responsible for ensuring all fabrication welding assembly and finishing processes meet ASME code requirements and company quality standards. ThisQuality Control (QC) Inspector Night Shiftrole supports production by inspecting welds validating welder qualifications and verifying documentation accuracy. The idealQuality Control (QC) Inspector Night Shifthas strong technical knowledge attention to detail and the ability to maintain compliance in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Knowledge ofASME code requirements and welding standards
Ability to read and interpretengineering drawings and weld details
Experience withquality control and quality assurance processes
Strong attention to detail and commitment toaccuracy and quality
Proficiency inMicrosoft Excel and Word
Ability to usemeasurement and inspection tools(tape measures calipers paint thickness gauges)
Strong written and verbalcommunication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Must be able to pass aneye exam
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Read and interpretQuality Control Manualrequirements for fabrication and assembly
Verify welders are properlyqualified and working within approved parameters
Inspect welds forappearance defects and ASME compliance
Ensure welds are properlycleaned and free of defects
Confirm welds are marked with theappropriate welder identification
VerifyNDE and PWHT processesare completed and properly documented
Ensure calibrated equipment is used fortesting and inspection processes
Inspect and documentpneumatic and hydrostatic testing
Stamp ASME code items and maintainphoto documentation
Inspectsandblasting paint prep and final coatings
Completepre-flight checklistsand verify corrections
Verify materials meetpurchase order requirements
Education & Experience
ASNT Certification or required ASNT hours
High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
Ability to enter confined spaces through a12 x 16 manway
Ability to stand for10 hoursand operate tools
Frequentwalking stooping kneeling and confined-space work
Strongvisual acuity and depth perception
Ability to work in anindustrial environment with PPE
Ability to lift or maneuver up to75 lbssafely
