We have an opportunity for a SAP Master Data Specialist for a 1-year contract.
Job Summary
The SAP Master Data Specialist is responsible for creating maintaining and ensuring the quality of Master Data for the Septodont Group worldwide. Working as part of a centralized team the role serves as a key point of contact for Master Data creation and updates across global business systems.
The position operates in compliance with Group Data Policies service-level agreements defined by Data Owners and Business Process Owners and established quality standards. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of ERP master data and pharmaceutical manufacturing business processes.
The SAP Master Data Specialist works closely with business and operational stakeholders to process Master Data creation and change requests. Experience in enterprise Master Data domains (such as product/material customer supplier and financial data) business systems (SAP ERP RIM QMS etc.) and Master Data Management processes is highly valued.
This role is based in Cambridge and reports to the Group Master Data Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop our databases for materials suppliers customers and finance within the ERP system (AX/SAP).
- Create and implement policies for effective data management (e.g. naming conventions for item master records).
- Define high-quality data collection techniques to ensure data relevance accuracy and reliability.
- Design and implement efficient and secure procedures for data processing and analysis taking into account all technical aspects.
- Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with senior management external stakeholders and data users within the organization.
- Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Liaising with business stakeholders to understand their master data requests and the implications in their business processes. Build relationships with these stakeholders remotely at various Septodont sites.
- Collaborating with other Master Data Specialists to together reach team goals solve problems and improve our master data management.
- Assist in report development and data extraction when required.
- Monitor and analyze information and data systems and assess their performance in order to identify improvement opportunities (new technologies upgrades etc.).
- Ensure that digital databases and archives are protected against security breaches and data loss.
- Resolve data-related issues and authorize maintenance or modifications.
- Have an overall view of the impact of MDM objects on the overall technical infrastructure (Interfaces).
- Works closely with IT teams data analysts and other departments to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Follows GMP and regulatory requirements and ensures quality standards are and supports all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Demonstrates the Company Mission Vision and Values Statements policies and current standard business practices.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors degree or equivalent diploma in general business systems statistics or related information technology field.
Experience
- 3 or more years experience as an ERP or similar Master Data Specialist Steward or Data Quality Analyst or similar role (preferably with SAP).
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proven experience in data management and as a data specialist.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of data administration functions.
- Strong command of database technologies.
- Knowledge of SAP master data model is an asset.
- Specific experience with Product/ Item/ Material/Business Partner master data in a pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
- Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection analysis distribution etc.).
- Familiarity with modern database technologies and information systems such as SAP.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel Access Word etc.).
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to interact directly with stakeholders across business units and accountability levels.
- Practical IT skills.
- Motivated by high-quality data and its beneficial impact on the company success.
- Professional proficiency in English with good written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
