The Department of Corrections (DOC) is recruiting for a forward-thinking and dynamic individual to fill the role of Financial Administrator II in our fast-paced Central Business Office. This position will be the lead for the Incarcerated Commissary and Banking system currently used by DOC to administer all financial transactions for Incarcerated addition this position will be a lead expense coordinator for the department and our Purchasing Card Program. The Financial Administrator II will also complete transactions related to Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and General Ledger. Critical tasks associated with this position include daily banking reporting of the Incarcerated Trust Account Lockbox and Pass-Through accounts expense report approvals . This position must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the department.

Work is performed in a standard office setting.
Bachelors degree in accounting AND one (1) year or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining reviewing and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.
OR
Two years of full-time college coursework OR an Associates degree in accounting business administration office administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining reviewing and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining reviewing and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.
OR
One (1) year or more as a Financial Administrator I with the State of Vermont.
OR
Certification as a CPA.
For some positions preference may be given to applicants with supervisory experience.
For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
