General Information:
The Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services (IIHHS) is seeking a student employee for the 2026-27 academic year to assist with the day-to-day management of IIHHS social media accounts and to provide logistical and administrative assistance for the Institutes interprofessional and interdisciplinary (IPE and IDE) courses and workshops as well as for other programs at IIHHS. Applicants should be available to work around 10 hours per week (Mon-Fri) with occasional evening shifts as needed. Applications MUST include a cover letter and resume in order to be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide administrative assistance for IIHHS social media platforms (Facebook Instagram LinkedIn) and collaborate with IIHHS programs on social media postings
* Receive post materials from IIHHS programs and assemble with appropriate images captions and hashtags on social media platforms via Social Champ
* Attend monthly IIHHS Social Media Committee meetings and provide updates on analytics and upcoming social media posts.
* Monitor social media via IIHHS accounts and list/repost other JMU-affiliated posts
* Maintain records of program post history via MS Teams and social media monthly analytics via MS Excel
* Provide support with graphic creation data visualization infographic creation and other data for use in marketing and publicity for IIHHS and the IIHHS annual report (Canva)
* Assist with IPE and IDE coursework workshop preparation/follow-up and other tasks for IIHHS IPE & IDE Associate Director and Administrative & Operational Services Coordinator
* Provide other administrative support for IIHHS and its programs as needed - front desk reception coverage event planning etc.
* Work shifts at 2031 Deyerle Ave. offices and occasionally at 755 MLK Jr. Way offices; at other locations at JMU as required for IPE and IDE events
Qualifications:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Strong understanding of social media platforms that IIHHS maintains (Facebook Instagram LinkedIn) and best practices for social media
* Strong interest in social media management
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Strong computer literacy skills with knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn Microsoft 365 applications (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook Teams) and platforms related to graphic design (Canva)
* Strong sense of personal responsibility (reliability and dependability with strong accuracy and attention to detail)
Successful applicants for this position often major in areas like Marketing or Media Arts & Design. Knowledge and familiarity with CHBS programs (i.e. Psychology Social Work Health Professions) is a plus.
