POSITION SUMMARY
The Health Safety and Environmental (HSE)Coordinatorpositionis responsible forengaging a culture of safety throughout our campus by educating and influencing leaders to enhance safety as part of the normal course of business. Provide management support in the planning development delivering and evaluation of safety policiesprogramsand training; promote safety for all employees and compliance with legal regulations and department policies. Ensure compliance with all Federal and State OSHA rules and regulations and provide traininginstructionand guidance in these areas. Oversee accident investigations and is also responsible for overseeing all record keeping that is performed after the investigation has concluded. Maintain awareness of current and emerging regulatory requirements and ensure that systems programsrecordkeepingand reporting procedurescomply withrequirements. Must also have strong organizational and communication skills and a keen ability to develop and implement processes.
As part of the DSV team Associates are expected to meet companyobjectivesin the areas of performance safety and are expected tocomply withall corporate and site-specific policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan design develop implement and evaluate departmental occupational safety programs.
Develop and conduct occupational safety training for all employees including evaluation and modification of programs to meet state and federal OSHA requirements.
Develop and provide safety needs; develop courses and address needs tofacilitateaccident and loss prevention andto meetfederal and state employees should receive the various training programs.
Maintain all HSE training records and notify Managers of training requirements and or deficiencies.
Schedule training as needed to keep all employees compliant with safety standards.
Ensure all employees have completed all mandated required safety training.
Coordinate scheduling of employees to attend training (or to completetraining)asrequiredto ensure a safehealthyand incident-free workplace.
Conduct andfacilitatemonthly safety meetings.
Maintain accident statistics analyze trends and propose and take remedial action where necessary.
Investigate or arrange for all accidents and near-missesbeinvestigated preparereportof finds including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement approved course of reports to the enforcing authority and DSV Corporate Safety Department asrequired.
Liaise with DSV Corporate Safety and the third-party administrator on all workers compensation claims including managing appeals where appropriate
Effectively manage return to work programs working closely with the employee his/her supervisors DSV Corporate Safety and the third-party administrator to ensure the employees safety and health
Conduct on-site observations on a regular basisin order toidentifypotential hazards.
Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis safe work procedures writtenreportsand recommendations.
Responsible formaintainingcompliance with all local state federal and OSHA regulations and requirementsregardingsafety practices.
Work closely and effectively with supervisors and managers to ensure employee compliance with HSE Policies and Procedures.
Responsible for monitoring adherence to the company safety program by all DSV Solutions employees and subcontractors.
Provide advice and counsel to management and employees on a broad range of occupational health and safety issues and decisions.
Ensureappropriate first-aidsupplies aremaintainedand ordered asrequired
Implement effective systems tocomply withall applicable HSE laws and includes knowing all applicable legal requirements having a process to meet each requirement and having adequate data thatdemonstratescompliant performance.
Communicate site HSE goals action plans and results to the organization. Implement an effective system to drive positive HSE results update HSE KPI scores and action plans regularly and issue allrequiredHSE data on time and accurately andmaintainanup to datefacility HSE performance profile.
Consult with DSV Corporate Safety and local leadership and give advice on formulatingbest-practicepolicies and procedures.
Keep staff and leadership abreast of any changes in HSE Legislation and changes in DSV Corporate HSE related processes.
Along with theSiteGM and DSV Corporate Safety personnel serve as the DSV representative for OSHA EPA DOT DHS or other State and Federal regulatory agencies and address any issues that may arise on a site level.
Ensure the implementation of the Emergency Management System (EMS) procedures andmonitorits effectiveness by undertaking fire evacuation and severe weather drills at the facility at least once a year.
Responsible for OSHA recordkeeping reporting and maintenance of required programs and training.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education& Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
One to two years related experience and/or trainingdirectly relatedto the duties and responsibilities specified.
Prior experience in safety observations/inspections developing and implementing compliance strategies and plans.
Knowledge of OSHA and other federal safety standards principlespracticesand techniques.
SKILLSKNOWLEDGEAND ABILITIES
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills necessary toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with co-workers other business areas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional accreditation in a safety or environmental field.
