Data Center ElectricalCommissioning Engineer:

JLL is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role ofData CenterElectrical Commissioning (Cx) Engineerlocatedin theTorontometro areato provide reliabletimely efficient support to ourData Center / Mission Criticalteam.

Thisposition entails working with a diverse group of internal and externalstakeholders at all levels of theprojectorganization and requiresindependentjudgement to plan prioritize and organize a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment. Thesuccessful candidate will bedetail-orientedwith strong organizationalskills andpossessa teamplayerattitude.

Youwillbe responsible forcarrying out the following duties specific to your position:

  • Possessfluencyanddemonstratedexperiencewiththecommissioning processes and deliverables covered in ASHRAEcommissioningguidelines.

  • Expertiseindata centerelectrical equipment/systemsfactory testinginstallationquality(means & methods)equipment andsystem startup and pre-functional inspectionsfunctionalacceptancetestingand associated commissioning activities.

  • General working knowledge and experience in Mechanical and Plumbing equipment/systems.

  • Experience workingdirectly with General Contractorssub-contractors inspectors AHJs and others involved with the QA/QCand Commissioningprogram execution for critical facility construction and commissioning.

  • Strongtechnicalmanagementskillsthroughout the design pre-construction construction and post-construction phases of projects.

  • Perform Commissioning Design DrawingSpecifications and SubmittalReviews.

  • Scheduleleadand document projectCommissioningmeetings.

  • Protect JLLs contractual position and ensure our work meets contracted requirements.

  • Develop Commissioning Plans and Commissioning Specifications.

  • Implement and execute electrical and EPMS QA/QC inspections oncomplexcommissioning projects including developing inspection and commissioningchecklists test scripts and procedures and other required documentation required by the Owners and/or General Contractors QA/QC program.

  • Carry out field-based commissioning activities including:(1) Site visits (2) Develop Start-up test forms; witness and approve contractor execution (3) Develop Functional Test scripts; manage direct and witness execution (4) Develop Integrated Systems Test scripts direct and witness execution

  • Understanding ofhow to develop and execute seasonal/performance tests.

  • Ability to write detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Methods-of-Procedures (MOPs).

  • Ability to develop and compile project documentation into site/project specific Systems Manuals.

  • Proficiencyin use of QA/QC andCxsoftware applications such as BIM360CxAlloy Facility Grid and other related QA/QC andCxapplications.

  • Ability to developreview andevaluatevendortraining programs for installed equipment and systems.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience leading and executing L1-L5 commissioning of the following:Medium Voltage Switchgear (>600V) Low Voltage Switchgear (<600V) MV/LV Transformers UPS and Battery Systems Static Transfer Switches (STS) Power Distribution Units (PDU) Remote Power Panels (RPP) Diesel Generators EPMS and SCADA Systems

Additional Expectations

  • High LevelFluency in English (written and spoken)

  • This is a full-time permanent position which while home based in the Toronto metro area will require a willingness to travel up to25% toprojectsites acrossCanadaand US.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of5years of relevant electrical engineering and/or field-testing experience with minimum of3yearsexperiencein providingdata center commissioningfield services

  • Possess a Commissioning Professional certificationor NETA testing certificationfrom a recognized industry authority

  • Prof Eng/PE or PMP designation is considered astrongassetfor thisrole butnot.

  • Ability to use electrical testing meters and equipment and analyze and report on test results including Power Quality Meters (PQM) thermography NETA tests ground tests hi-pot megger etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiencyin MS Project WordPowerPointand Excel

  • Experience working in a consultancy or owner organization is an asset

Estimated compensation for this position:

135000..00 CAD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications location market conditions and internal considerations.
