Responsibilities
Focusing on the insurance business the Accounting and Finance Intern would be assisting with all aspects of the accounting and reporting and the preparation of various components of the companys financial reporting packages based on US GAAP and Statutory requirements. The accounting and reporting responsibilities of the role include balance sheet account reconciliations month-end general ledger close procedures and SOX compliance related activities. Key functions will include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the preparation of profit and loss statements forecast models and other financial reports.
- Preparation and analysis of supporting schedules for journal entries in a controlled and timely manner.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of a chart of accounts and general ledger as well as company accounting policy and administer approved accounting procedures.
- Assist in the create various financial analysis and present findings to managers and/or executives.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Previous internship or work experience in accounting is a plus but not required.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and terms.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills.
