What will you do:
The Global Trade Compliance Senior Director will be an outstanding professional with sound intellectual ability and demonstrable experience in managing compliance resources across multiple businesses and jurisdictions. The Global Trade Compliance Senior Director should not only be a first-rate specialist but also possess commercial savvy appetite and personality to become proactively involved in a wide range of business issues. The successful candidate will be a highly proficient professional who can inspire change across a geographically diverse team and further develop and upskill the team. The Global Trade Compliance Senior Director will be an authority in leading compliance resources across multiple jurisdictions. An ideal candidate will be a team builder executor collaborator and an agent of change.
How you will do it:
Develop and lead with the global team the global Strategy for Trade Compliance
Develop implement and maintain policies and guidelines to safeguard compliance with applicable Global Trade Compliance regulations
Develop performance KPIs and measurement processes
Manage global Centers of Excellence for Classification FTA Qualification Export Documentation as well as supply chain security export control and sanctions compliance in a dynamic environment.
Participate in and support strategic projects (including M&A transactions) with relevant compliance input evaluation and investigation (due diligence).
Develop and implement automated process tools where applicable to ensure consistency and compliance.
Ensure brokerage partners have standardized operating procedures and provide outstanding service at competitive prices
Develop nurture and enable a successful global compliance team with a diverse membership. Mentor and develop the team to transform the compliance function of JCI as an outstanding organization.
What we look for:
Required
Bachelors degree (international trade law tax business economics) Licensed Customs Broker CUSECO or CES certifications or commensurate experience
Experience working with export licenses
Understanding of supply chain security certifications such as OEA and CTPAT
Understanding of export controls especially as they apply to China and Russia
Able to lead and develop a multi-cultural team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Masters degree (international trade law tax business economics) Licensed Customs Broker or CCS certification CUSECO or CES certifications or commensurate experience
Preparation and successful submission of ITAR and EAR export license requests
10 years of experience in a multinational environment (global manufacturing company big 4 consultancy firm law firm government etc.)
Capable of establishing and maintaining a network both within as well as outside JCI
NOTE: This is a virtual/remote position considering candidates who reside within the United States.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $158000 - $237000 (Salary to be determined by the education experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity location and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual group and corporate performance. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
