Job Title: Sanitation Lead

Location: Mars Petcare (VIC California)

Mars Petcare is looking for a Sanitation Lead to join our exciting pet food business at one of our manufacturing plants located in Victorville CA. We focus our attention on the unique needs of cats and dogs. Role:

The Sanitation Lead is responsible for implementing site and corporate Food Safety & Sanitation initiatives. Requires effective leadership skills to manage Sanitation Associates provide detailed Sanitation reports review/develop/implement Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures develop and deliver detailed training to Associates. Will be responsible for all safety requirements being fully adhered to throughout sanitation initiatives.

Responsibilities

Implement Master Cleaning Schedule
Create Shutdown/Start-up cleaning schedules
Conduct microbiological sampling of cleaned surfaces & equipment
Participate in Food Safety/HACCP Team and Period reports
Conduct periodic Micro team GMP/GHP training
Participate in IPM (Integrated Pest Management) activities as needed.

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

Working knowledge of food safety.
Responsible for assisting all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMPs.
Prioritize work on a daily basis by identifying pressing issues through communication with each operator knowing shift production plans and being aware of the area.
Promote a high-quality team environment through effective teamwork and self-management with a positive attitude.
Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within their area.
Understands production schedules as they relate to shutdowns.
Detailed cleaning of large areas and workspaces
Detailed cleaning of large pieces of manufacturing equipment
Understanding microbiological and pest control pertains to a food manufacturing environment.
The ability to work with all Teams at the site on Sanitation Pest Control and Housekeeping projects.
The ability to work in enclosed spaces.
The desire to work as an interactive team in a large plant setting.
When assigned to a specific operation area complete all duties associated with that assignment safely and efficiently.
Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule with particular attention to lock-out/tag-out procedures. Complete the required documentation.
Assist the plant to meet or exceed production goals.
Other duties and responsibilities throughout the plant as assigned by the Manager.
Educate others on sanitation principles.
Receive micro training and understand the hazards of cross-contamination.
Develop a detailed knowledge of the plants process flow.
Understand traffic air flow and color code system.

Minimum Qualifications:

Be 18 years of age or older.
Have a high school diploma GED or equivalent education
Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules.
Ability to understand and effectively communicate inthe English language.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent written/verbal communication (English)
Computer Skills Proficient in Word and Excel
Very Good interpersonal skills with the ability to influence motivate and work in a team environment.
Self-motivated
Good working knowledge of HACCP & Food Safety
Excellent working knowledge of all production equipment site layout sanitation tool use and preventive maintenance.
Good working knowledge ofHACCP & Food Safety.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge skills and total compensation package for this position will include variable pay medical and dental benefits participation in 401k plan and paid time off of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 26.28 - USD 36.13
