This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.


Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located in 1915 Health Services Way - Wake County with the Department of Health and Human Services.


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $40.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Effective July 1 2025 candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge Skills and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Management Preferences:

  • The primary purpose of this position is to analyze data including administrative claims encounters enrollment operational reports and surveys to support program staff in gaining insights from large datasets. These analyses will support program monitoring evaluation and policy decision-making for DMHDDSUS.
  • Responsibilities include data automation quality check and data cleaning analysis data dissemination data warehouse queries and ad hoc data requests.

  • Working to considerable knowledge and understanding of business systems theories processes rules and regulations and how they apply to technology in the applicable area(s).
  • Working to considerable knowledge of applicable business information systems testing methodologies training business system analysis and/or other applicable systems.
  • Ability to independently develop modify and validate SAS programs to support analysis and reporting needs.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree from appropriately accredited institution in a discipline related to the area of assignment with two years of programmatic experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
