Job Description
We are looking for a JVM Software Intern who wants to develop new skills and learn login and privacy solutions that are as seamless intuitive and frictionless as possible all without compromising security.
ABOUT THE TEAM
- We are responsible for the Schibsted Account Consent Management Platform and Privacy-related Products
- We are a cross-functional team with dedicated 2 Product managers 1 UX designer 1 Data Analyst and 10 talented engineers in Poland and Sweden.
- Our team has the autonomy to discover new ways forward what tools and technologies we use and influence the future of our Schibsted account product
- We put a strong emphasis on self-development and knowledge sharing (we offer 10% learning day training budget)
- We follow You build it you run it principle with ownership over our Infrastructure
The tech stack our products utilize is quite broad but we dont expect you to be familiar with everything.
- Backend: Kotlin Scala Java PHP Kafka
- Databases: MySQL PostgreSQL DynamoDB OpenSearch
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions
- Infrastructure: AWS K8S Terraform
- Monitoring: Grafana Victoria Metrics/Prometheus PagerDuty
ABOUT THE ROLE
- You will join us for 2 months (July-August) on a full-time basis the internship is paid 5500 gross/month
- You will be given your own tasks and a senior mentor who will support you through the whole eight weeks of your training
- You will be able to use technologies you know in real-life projects and you will also play with technologies that are new for you
- You will work together with experienced developers as well as get to know more about Product and UX
ABOUT YOU
- Basic experience in JVM Languages (Kotlin or Java)
- 3rd-5th-year student and you are finishing university rather sooner than later
- Good English skills and you are not afraid to use it on a daily basis
- Willingness to learn new techs and products
It will be a plus if you have:
- Basic experience or knowledge in some of other relevant technologies would be plus
- DynamoDB or another NoSQL database
- MySQL PostgreSQL or another relational database
- Docker AWS and Kubernetes
- RESTful APIs and queues (SNS SQS and/or Kafka)
- Previous internship experience
- Background in designing building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
We work at our vibrant and colourful office in Kraków and we would like to meet with you there on-site. This is an essential part of the role as it supports collaboration and team engagement. Candidates should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of our Kraków office.
