A well-regarded secondary school in Bristol rated Good by Ofsted is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Religious Studies Teacher to join its successful Humanities Department. The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience

  • Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that develop critical thinking ethical understanding and cultural awareness

  • Inspire students to explore diverse beliefs values and worldviews with respect and curiosity

  • Plan lessons that effectively support challenge and stretch learners of all abilities

  • Monitor student progress and provide clear constructive feedback

  • Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE examinations and assessments

  • Contribute to the development of the Religious Studies curriculum and departmental resources

  • Support enrichment opportunities such as debate clubs philosophy groups or interfaith activities

  • Play a full role in the pastoral life of the school including form tutoring where required


The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a teacher who:

  • Holds (or is working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Has a degree in Religious Studies Theology Philosophy or a related subject

  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and effective teaching practice

  • Is able to inspire enthusiasm respect and curiosity about different beliefs and cultures

  • Maintains high expectations for both academic achievement and behaviour

  • Is reflective and committed to ongoing professional development

  • Works positively as part of a collaborative and supportive teaching team
