About the Opportunity
Star Nursing is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager Trauma ICU to lead a high-acuity critical care unit.
This role provides both clinical and administrative leadership ensuring high-quality patient care staff development and operational efficiency within the Trauma ICU.
Position Summary
The Nurse Manager Trauma ICU is responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit including staffing quality improvement and patient care delivery. This position maintains 24-hour accountability for clinical operations and ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff
- Promote high standards of patient care and clinical excellence
- Ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes
Operations & Management
- Oversee daily unit operations staffing and workflow
- Support budgeting and resource utilization
- Ensure compliance with hospital state federal and Joint Commission standards
Quality & Performance Improvement
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement corrective actions
- Support regulatory readiness and compliance
Staff Development
- Lead staff education training and onboarding
- Mentor assistant nurse managers and clinical staff
- Support ongoing professional development
Collaboration
- Work closely with Director and hospital leadership
- Participate in committees and hospital initiatives
- Support interdisciplinary coordination across departments
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (or equivalent experience)
- Active Florida RN license
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ICU/trauma or related specialty
- Minimum 1 year leadership or supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of quality improvement and Joint Commission standards
- Certifications Required:
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Nursing or related field
- National certification in critical care or specialty area
- Experience in Trauma ICU leadership
