Job Summary

Job Title: Medical Technologist (MT/MLS)

Specialty: Clinical Laboratory / Medical Technologist (Generalist)

Site: Pine Ridge PHS Indian Hospital

Location: 607 Indian Health Road Pine Ridge SD 57770

Duration: 12-week base contract with multiple 2-month extension options (long-term potential)

Shift Schedule: 40 45 hours per week Rotational shifts - Day / Evening / Night shifts (as needed) Weekends Federal Holidays

How many shifts needed per month: Full-time coverage (approx. 160 180 hours/month)

Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 to 8 weeks

License: Any state license accepted

Certifications:

ASCP/AMT
BLS (preferred)

Experience Needed: 4 years of recent clinical laboratory experience

Education: Must have a Min Associate Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Special Skills Needed:

Generalist experience across:
- Hematology
- Chemistry
- Urinalysis
- Blood Bank
- Phlebotomy
Experience with high-complexity testing (CLIA compliant)
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Responsibilities:

Perform laboratory testing across multiple departments (hematology chemistry blood bank etc.)
Collect and process specimens including phlebotomy
Ensure proper specimen labeling using patient identifiers
Report and document critical lab values accurately
Maintain compliance with facility policies CLIA standards and quality control procedures
Participate in competency assessments and proficiency testing
