JOB OVERVIEW

The Packaging Planning Specialist is responsible for owning the supply pipeline for assigned packaging raw materials. This involves collaborating with members of the Operations Planning team and with relevant cross-functional stakeholders to meet requirements for operations and business objectives. The sustainment of strong supplier relationships is also critical for this role. Functional Planning is performed on BY software (S&OP) with other tools such as SAP ECC SAP HANA Microsoft Excel and the TESI order management portal.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the availability of packaging materials based on the local production and co-packing plan.
  • Maintain system parameters for all assigned materials to support accurate MRP results.
  • Align stock and open orders with suppliers periodically to prevent coverage gaps.
  • Place orders and share 12-month forecast with each supplier in line with the monthly Tactical Planning cycle.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to effectively manage inventory with the intention of minimizing costs and improving supply chain performance.
  • Support the Food Planning team with information related to packaging material availability.
  • Own operational relationships with each assigned supplier; manage order KPIs and develop recovery plans as needed.
  • Utilize knowledge and expertise to support continuous process improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and PMO departments on forthcoming NPDs PCRs and packaging graphic updates.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative cross-functional relationships most notably with local Procurement local Plant Logistics and HQ Central Planning departments
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management or Business Management
  • 3-5 years of related experience in Material Planning or Production Planning
  • Experience in Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) software preferred
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP system required
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel Word and Powerpoint) required
  • Strong understanding of Planning and Supply Chain fundamentals required
  • Strong problem-solving analytical and communications (verbal/written) skills across all levels of operation
  • Self-motivated and ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team enviroment
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
