The Role

We are looking for a Hotel Finance Assistant to support the Cluster Financial Controller in the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently with a primary focus on purchase ledger expenses and financial controls.
You will be based on property and work closely with both the Finance team and operational departments to maintain strong financial discipline and reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable receivable and general ledger
- Process supplier invoices expenses and payments accurately and in a timely manner
- Review and reconcile accounts ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved
- Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial reports
- Monitor budget performance and support department heads with financial insight
- Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure reporting accuracy
- Review invoices and contracts for compliance with company policies
- Support external audit processes and documentation requirements
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Maintain accurate records of invoices receipts and financial documentation
- Take a proactive approach to identifying improvements and supporting ad-hoc finance projects
What Were Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of finance or accounting experience (hospitality experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger and accounts receivable processes
- Advanced Excel skills with working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments
- Comfortable adapting to new systems and technology
- Knowledge of hotel systems (e.g. HMS) is advantageous
