3 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Role Purpose
The Passenger Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation dispatch and coordination of the passenger transport fleet. This role ensures that services run safely efficiently and in compliance with all operational regulatory and company standards.
Working a split shift the Supervisor will manage morning and afternoon dispatch operations at North London Business Park and attend Oakleigh Road Depot following dispatch completion to support ongoing operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily deployment and dispatch of passenger transport services.
- Ensure all routes are covered efficiently and in line with schedules.
- Monitor real-time operations and respond promptly to service disruptions.
- Coordinate vehicle and driver allocations to meet service demands.
- Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy compliant and fit for service.
- Liaise with maintenance teams to report defects and arrange timely repairs.
- Monitor fleet usage and availability to optimize operational efficiency.
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers during shifts.
- Provide guidance support and performance oversight.
- Ensure drivers adhere to company policies safety standards and legal requirements.
- Assist with driver briefings and debriefings.
- Ensure compliance with all transport regulations safeguarding policies and health & safety standards.
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
- Support incident management including reporting and investigation where required.
- Attend Oakleigh Road Depot after morning and afternoon dispatch duties.
- Support depot operations including vehicle checks and coordination with on-site teams.
- Ensure smooth communication between operational sites.
- Maintain high service standards for passengers and clients.
- Address service issues or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Requirements
- Previous experience in transport operations fleet supervision or a similar role.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage real-time operational challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of transport compliance and safety regulations (desirable).
- Competent in using scheduling and fleet management systems.
