About the role
We are seeking an experienced Plastics Technician / Die Setter to join our team at our Hamilton manufacturing site. Working as part of a collaborative production team you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining blow moulding machines and associated equipment to ensure safe efficient operation and consistent achievement of quality and production targets.
You will also support continuous improvement initiatives within the department and take ownership of basic preventative maintenance and setter training within your designated area. All technical activities are expected to be completed to a high standard in a timely manner and in line with safety and quality requirements.
What youll do:
- Install set up and change over blow moulding machines including loading moulds adjusting clamps and ensuring correct alignment.
- Configure and adjust machine parameters such as temperature pressure cycle time speed and cooling to meet product specifications.
- Secure and align moulds correctly to prevent defects equipment damage or production issues.
- Monitor machines during production runs identifying and responding to defects misalignment or mechanical issues.
- Troubleshoot mould machine and process issues taking prompt corrective action to minimise downtime.
- Carry out routine maintenance on machines and moulds including cleaning and lubrication.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
- Accurately record machine settings adjustments and production data.
- Escalate equipment faults or maintenance requirements to the appropriate personnel
What youll bring:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a blow mould die setter/fitter or strong mechanical experience setting manufacturing machinery.
- Sound knowledge of blow moulding machines moulds and ancillary equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and carry out basic repairs.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills to work effectively with production teams and engineers.
- A strong safety focus and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

- Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week (8hour rotating shifts across a 24hour operation)
- Pay rate: $30.00 $40.00 per hour depending on experience
- Overtime paid at 1.5x / 2.0x rates
