Job Summary

Join the fast growing Ingram UK Wholesale team as a key link within our Sales and Product this newly-created role youll support the team with both publishers and retailers; managing data accuracy streamline workflows and strengthen the customer experience across the UK and international book supply chain.

As the Wholesale Sales Support Specialist you will support in the setup of new suppliers and retailers troubleshoot challenges and maintain accurate product and pricing data. You will help run and improve our core business processes such as returns shipping programmes and pricing promotions. Working closely with other internal teams across Ingram Content Group UK such as Customer Care Logistics and Finance you will play a key part in ensuring smooth operations and consistently high service levels to both our Retailer clients and Publisher partners.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail a problem solving mindset and a passion for the book industry to play a meaningful role in supporting systems processes and customer relationships within a dynamic and expanding business.

The desirable candidate will be able to handle large datasets identify issues early understand customer expectations and be confident communicating with both internal teams and external partners.

Essential Duties

  • Provide day-to-day support to both the IWUK Product team and publisher suppliers and IWUK Sales team and retail customers.
  • Coordinate IWUK operational processes including retailer and publisher returns; track performance and capture learnings to improve process consistency across business units and maintain best-practice documentation.
  • Provide onboarding support for new retailers and publishers liaising with Customer Care and Credit teams.
  • Set up monitor and analyse retailer pricing promotions to drive Product sales growth.
  • Maintaining data integrity across item and purchase order systems
  • Support in maintaining open cross-team communications particularly in problem-solving complex processes

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support or lead on key projects and initiatives for the IWUK Sales and Product teams.
  • Support IWUK Product team in meeting fill rate inventory turn and returns targets.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to equip Sales and Product teams with required materials
  • Liaise with Operations Shipping and Finance to support IWUK processes including bespoke shipping rate quotes maintenance of shipping programmes and communication to external partners

Qualifications :

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of personal computing skills including proficiency with MS office (Excel Word Outlook Teams and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of ONIX or similar large datasource
  • Knowledge of an additional European language would be a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK book industry supply chain
  • Adherence to deadlines and meeting key deliverables Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking when working through complex issues
  • Clear and confident communicator able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work methodically maintain accuracy in repetitive tasks
  • Ability to manage numerous duties on a continuous basis and prioritize workload accordingly

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the book industry or relevant sales / retail experience
  • 2 years of proficiency in Word Outlook and strong Excel skills (formulas data manipulation)

Essential Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel to Milton Keynes Book Fairs or Customer/Supplier trips if required
