Job Summary

This vacancy is open to employees of Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust only.

The Shared Corporate Service (SCS) is delivered across Isle of Wight Trust (IWT) or Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust (PHU) you may be based at either and may be required to undertake business travel between sites.

NHS Band 8a: Salary 57528 - 64750 per annum (pay scale effective from 1st April 2026)

Full Time: 37.5 hours per week 

Fixed Term Contract: Fixed until 31st December 2027

Closing Date: 16th April or will be closed sooner when sufficient amount of applications received

The SCS has embarked on a journey to share digital solutions across the trusts to improve patient outcomes and the experience of delivering care for our patients.

Whilst we bridge this digital gap in the short term our long term objective is to share a single EPR across the 4 acute trusts to provide a combined vision and strategic goals of:

  1. Isle of Wight NHS Trust (IWT)
  2. Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU)
  3. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT)
  4. University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust (UHS)

The Trusts will work together with their clinical and departmental experts alongside regional digital colleagues to procure and implement a joint EPR over the coming years .

Job purpose

Act as the lead developer for specified software products feature developments and the integration of Trust systems data and medical devices.

Act as a technical lead for the delivery of software developments integration and sharing of data between applications utilising Agile methodologies.

Engage fully with stakeholders Trust staff and third-party suppliers where applicable to ensure services are delivered in a timely fashion and meet the requirements of clinical and corporate Trust staff.

Qualifications :

Essential 

  • Degree level qualification or 5 years experience working with either software development or integration experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
