Job Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated Inspector Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm to join our Non-Ferrous Department. This position requires strong attention to detail knowledge of ferrous/non ferrous metals and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
What youre responsible for:
- Conducting thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Identify and segregating non-conforming materials such as contaminants or prohibited items
- Utilizing appropriate tools and equipment to measure and verify the weight dimensions and composition materials
- Collaborating with the operations team to coordinate the movement and storage of materials within the yard
- Monitoring and maintaining accurate records of inventory levels material conditions and inspection findings
- Communicating and reporting any deviations from quality standards
Qualifications :
What youre responsible for:
- You have previous experience in a similar role within the metal recycling industry specifically in materials inspection is highly desirable
- You have knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals their properties and common contaminants or impurities
- You have familiarity with relevant tools and equipment used for measurement and inspection such as scales callipers magnet testers etc.
- You have the ability to work in a physically demanding environment including lifting and moving heavy objects
- You have proficient in using computer systems and software for data entry and record keeping
- You are comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment and being exposed to various weather conditions
