Rate of Pay: 26.00 - 35.30 per hour
Summary:
As an HR Consultant you will provide professional high-quality HR advice to line managers across the Council utilizing a risk-based approach to determine support levels. You will offer pragmatic solutions to enable effective management of people performance applying your knowledge of HR/OD policy best practices and employment law. Working closely with OD colleagues you will play a vital role in upskilling management practices and fostering a strong performance culture throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage a diverse and complex caseload including absence probations disciplinary actions and grievances while maintaining accurate records.
- Negotiate and consult with trade union representatives to resolve individual employee issues and seek innovative conflict resolution methods such as mediation.
- Develop credible professional relationships with internal colleagues managers and external partners.
- Triage queries and issues performing risk assessments and escalating matters to senior leadership when necessary.
- Commission and interpret HR analytics to identify trends and recommend proactive evidence-based solutions. Use AI and digital tools to enhance service delivery
Qualifications:
- CIPD Intermediate/Level 5 Qualified or equivalent professional experience.
- Bachelors Degree (BSc/BA) or equivalent experience.
Essentials:
- Proven track record as an HR Manager or Consultant dealing with trade unions and complex casework.
- Solid understanding of employment law and practical experience applying employee relations practices to resolve workplace issues.
- Experience successfully applying performance management techniques to drive organizational improvement
- Experience working successfully with senior managers on sensitive or complex HR matters.
