- 95% connected to Chicago rail yards
- Average:
- 1900 miles per week
- Freight includes:
- Intermodal containers on chassis
- 100% no-touch freight
- Mix of:
- 75% drop & hook
- 25% live load/unload
Schedule & Days Off Options
This position offers weekend-focused schedules with consistent days off:
Schedule Options
- Thursday Monday (OFF Tuesday & Wednesday)
- Friday Tuesday (OFF Wednesday & Thursday)
Additional Options
- Optional 6th workday available for extra pay
- Drivers choose a consistent start time each week
Home weekly with 34-hour reset
Predictable weekly schedule
Pay & Compensation
- Avg Weekly Pay: $1700$1900
- Avg Annual Pay: $90000
Mileage Pay:
- $0.65 $0.70 CPM
Additional Pay:
- $35 drop & hook pay
- $65 live load/unload pay
Equipment & Work Setup
- Mid-roof sleeper tractors (mostly automatic Freightliners)
- Modern fleet (2.5-year average age)
- Intermodal chassis equipment
- Must park at terminal if within 30 miles
Training
- Paid online orientation
- Approx. 2-week training period
Work Environment
- No-touch freight minimal physical labor
- Consistent intermodal freight stable income
- Mix of day and night driving depending on route
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum 3 months of tractor-trailer experience required
- Must be able to:
- Work weekend schedules
- Maintain consistent start times
- Handle regional intermodal operations
