Position Overview
Now hiring CDL-A drivers for a regional team driving position based in Upper Marlboro MD (Washington DC area). This role offers high weekly pay consistent miles and steady grocery freight making it ideal for experienced team drivers looking to maximize earnings.
Drivers will haul multi-temperature grocery freight across regional lanes with reliable scheduling and strong pay incentives.
Route & Freight Details
- Regional team routes across surrounding states
- Hiring area within 60 miles of Washington DC
- Average:
- 4400 miles per week (team miles)
- Freight includes:
- Grocery freight (multi-temp refrigerated)
- May include pork and alcohol
- Delivery type:
- 100% no-touch freight (with driver assist counting pallets)
- Stops:
- 24 stops per route
- Backhauls:
- 100% no-touch
Schedule & Home Time
- Dispatch window:
- 10:00 PM 6:00 AM
- Drivers typically:
- Run 1 week out
- Get 3448 hour reset at home
- Must be available for:
- At least 1 weekend day
- Possible 6th day during peak seasons
Pay & Compensation
- Avg Weekly Pay: $1900$2100 per driver
- Avg Annual Pay: $100000 per driver
Mileage Pay:
- $0.86 CPM (team split)
Additional Pay:
- $25 stop pay (split)
- $35 backhaul pay
Bonuses
- $10000 sign-on bonus per team ($5000 per driver)
- $2000 referral bonus
Equipment & Work Setup
- Freightliner & International tractors (automatic)
- 53 refrigerated trailers (roll doors)
- Slip seat operation
- Trucks parked at distribution center during home time
Training
- 2 required training runs
- $250/day training pay
Work Environment
- Night driving required
- Must be comfortable with:
- City driving (DC/metro areas)
- Winter driving conditions
- Light physical activity (pallet counting and bulkhead movement)
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum 6 months of tractor-trailer experience required
- Must have:
- Team driving capability
- Must be able to:
- Work overnight shifts
- Handle grocery freight
- Work weekends and peak schedules
