Job Summary
The Achievement Centers for Childrens Therapeutic Horsemanship Program located at Camp Cheerful is currently accepting applications for interns & barn staff for the Summer 2026 camp season!
Responsibilities include:
- Teach safe educational & fun equine assisted activities for campers
- Create and implement horse related art & craft projects
- Interact with individuals with special needs to provide a positive experience
- Interact and work with volunteers of all ages
- Sidewalk in Adapted Riding classes
- Lead horses in Adapted Riding classes
- Assist PATH Certified Instructors with classes
- Bring horses in and out of pastures
- Provide daily care of assigned horses including feed water grooming and wellness checks
- General barn up keep and maintenance Interns & barn staff will gain experience working with individuals with physical emotional and developmental disabilities through equine assisted activities and adapted riding lessons.
This is a paid internship that takes place at Camp Cheerful 15000 Cheerful Lane Strongsville OH 44136. This is a 25-30 hour per week commitment from June 1 - August 14 2026. On site housing may be available if needed. Experience with horses and/or individuals with special needs preferred.
