About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Biology across Key Stages 3 and 4 with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates. The role involves delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that help pupils develop a strong understanding of biological concepts and scientific enquiry.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching Biology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
Planning and delivering engaging lessons that incorporate practical experiments
Supporting pupils in developing scientific thinking and problem-solving skills
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress through regular assessment
Preparing pupils for GCSE and/or A-Level examinations
Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning
Supporting intervention sessions to help pupils achieve their full potential
Participating in extracurricular activities such as science clubs or STEM events
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Biology
Be confident teaching across multiple key stages
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
Be organised proactive and committed to high standards
Have the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Be committed to continuous professional development
