About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Chemistry across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching A-Level Chemistry for candidates with relevant experience. The role involves delivering practical and theory-based lessons that help pupils develop a strong foundation in chemical principles.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching Chemistry across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
Planning and delivering engaging lessons that include practical investigations
Supporting pupils in developing analytical and problem-solving skills
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress through regular assessment
Preparing pupils for GCSE and/or A-Level examinations
Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
Maintaining high standards of classroom management and behaviour
Supporting extracurricular activities such as science clubs or STEM initiatives
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Chemistry
Be confident delivering both practical and theoretical lessons
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
Be organised reliable and committed to high teaching standards
Have the ability to motivate pupils and encourage independent learning
Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
