Key responsibilities include:
Teaching Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
Planning and delivering engaging lessons that include hands-on practical work
Supporting pupils in developing creative design and technical skills
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress through regular feedback
Preparing pupils for GCSE and/or A-Level coursework and examinations
Maintaining workshop safety and ensuring health and safety compliance
Contributing to curriculum planning and development
Supporting extracurricular activities such as design clubs or project competitions
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Design Technology
Be confident delivering practical workshop-based lessons
Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
Have a good understanding of workshop safety procedures
Be organised proactive and committed to high standards
Work effectively as part of a collaborative department
