Job Summary
Job Summary:
The Justice Digital Platform Services team provides reusable components and common services to help other product teams go faster. It supports alignment across digital services and enables digital at scale.
Responsibilities:

Lead the solution architecture of digital services by: Developing the overall architectural plan ensuring a citizen-centered design and agile software approach; Uncovering existing system context; Providing recommendations and prototypes for technical discovery and feasibility; Providing and being accountable for the solution designs that account for iterative implementation; and Analyzing impacts exposure and risk as it pertains to the solution design.

Guide the team in the implementation of digital services by: Facilitating frequent delivery of products to ensure that the target architecture is successfully created; Determining the tactical approach on each integration and the target state of system boundaries and interactions; Identifying opportunities to leverage common components and capabilities of other digital services; Encouraging team contribution towards developing opportunities to leverage other digital services; Providing guidance on the creation of detailed designs for solution implementation; Reviewing code changes; Contributing to code changes in order to implement user stories and to complete technical tasks; and Providing coaching and mentorship to the product team.

Contribute to the architectural vision for a platform of user-centric services particularly as it relates to the use of common components and capabilities to accelerate service delivery.

Contribute to the development of principles metrics and standards for service quality and delivery.

Provide software architecture information to technical and non-technical audiences by creating materials (documents diagrams presentations etc.) appropriate to the audience.

Actively participate in the development and continuous improvement of the architecture Province and the Contractor shall determine changes to Services and Materials as required. The Province and the Contractor will determine changes to Services and Materials through the Artifacts.
Requirements:
Must have:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study equivalencies will be considered.
- Experience as a software architect leading the design and delivery of enterprise-scale solutions using modern development stacks in complex organizational environments.
- Experience with containerization orchestration and infrastructure-as-code practices for cloud or hybrid environments
- Experience working with teams that also apply UX design service design design thinking or human-centered design approaches.
- Proven ability to define and communicate solution architecture for large-scale systems including integrations modernization strategies and cloud-native design patterns.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.
- Experience and technical knowledge of the Framework.
- Experience applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principle.
- Experience designing and managing APIs including RESTful services and system integrations
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing deployment and observability.
- Experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases.
- Experience with the Government of Albertas Information Technology/Information Management policies standards and guidelines.
- Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases including schema design and performance optimization.
- Experience working within public sector digital service frameworks or enterprise architecture standards.
