The Value and Access Manager NZ will play a pivotal role in securing timely and sustainable access for AbbVies portfolio in New Zealand. This role requires demonstrated experience in preparing and executing market access strategies contributing to Pharmac submissions (or similar) and collaborating across key internal and external stakeholders.
This is a fixed-term 12 month contract opportunity due to an increased volume in reimbursement submissions and feasibility assessments. Some travel is required for this role.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of PHARMAC submissions including writing clear evidence-based content with accountability for quality alignment and delivery timelines.
- Serve as the market access lead on cross-functional Brand teams delivering reliable access and payer insights to shape strategy and inform business planning.
- Contribute to reimbursement feasibility assessments for new products/indications to support portfolio prioritisation and resource allocation.
- Monitor the evolving reimbursement and policy landscape in New Zealand and contribute to stakeholder engagement activities that support access objectives.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to ensure local access insights inform evidence planning and support alignment on access and pricing strategy.
- Provide input into reimbursement and pricing assumptions for financial planning cycles.
- Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVies policies and procedures.
- Proactively participate in AbbVies WHS programs adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to AbbVies internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
- Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties as requested.
Qualifications :
- Tertiary qualifications in Biomedical Science Public Health Health Economics or Business Administration
- Experience in Value & Access health economics or related roles within the pharmaceutical industry
- The ideal candidate should have understanding of the NZ healthcare system and reimbursement processes
- Experience in Value & Access strategy execution and capability in writing high-quality HTA submissions with clear evidence-based value propositions
- Strong strategic & analytical thinking: demonstrated by the ability to identify and understand complex issues and problems and interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations across functional areas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor content to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and matrix environments.
- Ability to adapt to evolving customer needs/demands within a changing environment.
