Help solve the bigissuesshaping Aotearoa New Zealands food &fibresector. At PwC we build trust in society and solve important problems and our Finance Economics & Analytics team helps clients make better decisions through rigorous economic analysis modelling and practical advice.
This is afull time permanentopportunity(Monday Fridayminimum37.5 hoursper week)based inPōneke/ Wellington.We are seekinganexperienced Analyst with an agriculturaleconomicsbackground to support high-impact projects across agribusiness industry bodies iwi/Māoriorganisations and central and local government.Youllwork alongside senior economists and consultants to deliver clear evidence-based insights and client-ready outputs. Your work will include both quantitative analysis and strong written communication.
Your day-to-day could include:
Supportingdelivery of agricultural economics and broader economic advisory engagements (planning analysis drafting and review).
Buildingandmaintaininganalytical models and tools (e.g.Excel-based models; scenario and sensitivity analysis).
Undertakingmarket sector and value chain analysis across primary industries (e.g.dairy red meat horticulture forestry food processing).
Contributingto policy and regulatory analysis affecting the food &fibresector (e.g. productivity trade climate and emissions land and water biosecurity investment).
Assistingwith economic impact analysis costbenefit analysis and business case development.
Gatheringcleaning and interpretingdata from multiple sources; translatingfindings into practical insights.
Draftinghigh-quality reports slide decks and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
Supportingclient meetings and workshops (includingnote-takinganalysisfollow-ups and action tracking).
Contributingto proposal writing and business development (research drafting and pricing support).
Workingcollaboratively across PwC teams (e.g. sustainability strategy data & analytics Māori business deals).

At least1 yearof experience in consulting advisory or acommercially-focusedanalytical role.
Bachelors degree in Agricultural EconomicsAppliedEconomics AgribusinessCommerceor a closely related discipline (or equivalent).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with confidence working with data and financial/economic concepts.
Strong written and verbal communication skillsableto tell a clear story from evidence.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel (and comfort building models); experience with Power BI R Python SQLor similar is an advantage.
Interest and experience in the primary industries / food &fibresector.At least 6 months of this must be inaNew Zealand context.
Willingness to travel within New Zealand for client work.
