POSITION SUMMARY:

The Graduate Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in all aspects of coaching including planning and conducting practices preparing for games and competitions and fostering a positive and safe environment. This role is vital in helping our student-athletes achieve their full potential both on and off the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Head Coach in planning organizing and conducting practice sessions.

Support the development and implementation of game and competition strategies.

Provide instruction during practice sessions and assist with pregame warmups.

Assist with video analysis opponent scouting and the breakdown of game film for teaching purposes.

Help ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices games and competitions.

Foster a positive inclusive and supportive team culture.

Assist in the recruitment and retention of talented student-athletes including identifying prospective student-athletes and supporting recruiting activities.

Participate in team events fundraisers and community engagement activities.

Monitor academic progress and support student-athletes in balancing their academic and athletic commitments.

Support compliance with all NCAA Conference Carolinas and North Greenville University rules regulations and policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to hear well enough to communicate effectively with co-workers vendors and athletes.

Frequently convey detailed or important coaching instructions and ideas accurately clearly and quickly.

Ability to demonstrate soccer techniques and drills during practice and pregame activities.

The capability to demonstrate and instruct during practices and games.

Strong visual and auditory abilities to quickly and accurately assess player performance and assist with recruiting and evaluation during camps and clinics.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The Graduate Assistant Coach is required to work according to athletic game schedules meetings and practices. This assistant coach schedule does not operate on a traditional work schedule.

TRAVEL:

Travel is required for away games and competitions.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree required.

Supports NGUs mission statement and core values commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with a biblical model.

Affirm an understanding of the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

Affirm understanding of the Universitys Statement on Human Flourishing.

Agree to abide by the employee handbooks including community standards agreements.
