Job Summary
Developscustomproduct designs for automated material handling systems. Works on small less-complex projects andonteams with more senior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Creates product designs that are manufacturable scalable consistent competitive and desirable toDaifukuscustomers
- Performs diversespecializedand complex work involving significant accountability anddecision-making
- Ensures that new products are safereliableand easy tomaintain
- Follows engineering standards and uses modeling and simulation tools to prove or disprovedesigns
- Partners with the design team internal customers manufacturing quality controlpurchasing and outside vendors to developnewsolutions
- Maintains a progress schedule that meets projectmilestones
- Performs on-site testing andverification
- Travels up to 20%
- Assistswith developing engineering prototyping testing and revising productsdesigns
- Assistswith analyzing data toidentifytrends in usage cost performance andreliability
- Assistswith executing test plans for concepts andprototypes
- Assistswith researchingappropriateand cost-effective purchasedparts
- Assistswith engineering calculations to ensure robust designs including horsepower stress torque deflection torsion overhung load sortation rate cycle rate air consumption and amperage draw
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirments
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline preferably Mechanical Industrial or Product Development or equivalent experience
- Experience in the Material Handling industry or a similar industry such as an internship
- Experience in a production/factory/manufacturing environment is highlydesirable
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Experienced with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD and 2DAutoCAD
- Experienced with MS Office including Word ExcelPowerPoint Project Teams etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic and creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Organizational skills to meet project plans anddeadlines
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results-orientedenvironment
- Ability to handle project assignments with minimalsupervision
- Knowledge of metals and plastics material properties
- Knowledge of manufacturing fundamentals
- Knowledge of controls devices and industrial controlsfundamentals
- Must be able to speakreadand understand the English language
