Job Summary

Summary

The Senior Housekeeping Manager oversees all housekeeping operations including staffing training inspections budgeting and departmental strategy. This leader has full authority to hire coach and manage performance while ensuring the property maintains exceptional cleanliness and service standards.

Essential Job Functions

Operational Leadership

  • Directs daily Housekeeping and Laundry operations ensuring all standards policies and procedures are consistently met.
  • Assigns room boards and work duties to Room Attendants Housepersons and Laundry staff.
  • Responds promptly to operational needs radio calls and guest requests.
  • Prioritizes cleaning of guestrooms public areas and backofhouse spaces based on business demands.
  • Ensures timely communication of room status to the Front Desk and other departments.
  • Conducts daily inspections of guestrooms and public areas ensuring documentation and followup with staff.
  • Performs regular property walks to identify cleanliness safety and maintenance needs.
  • Maintains strong communication and collaboration with Front Office PBX Engineering and other departments.

Team Management & Development

  • Leads trains and mentors housekeeping and laundry employees ensuring consistent performance and adherence to standards.
  • Utilizes onthejob training tools and maintains a strong team of certified trainers.
  • Coaches staff on vacant room cleaning stayover service and brandstandard procedures.
  • Schedules staff according to business needs and monitors time and attendance.
  • Administers policies fairly and consistently ensuring proper documentation and adherence to SOPs and LSOPs.
  • Observes service behaviors and provides timely coaching feedback and recognition.
  • Maintains an opendoor environment encourages employee feedback and supports engagement initiatives.

Quality Safety & Guest Experience

  • Ensures all employees have proper tools equipment and uniforms.
  • Oversees an effective inspection program for guestrooms and public spaces.
  • Responds to guest concerns with professionalism and urgency.
  • Drives continuous improvement in cleanliness service delivery and guest satisfaction.
  • Supports the execution of the perfect shift ensuring all tasks and checklists are completed.

Financial & Inventory Management

  • Manages departmental budgets including labor supplies and productivity goals.
  • Conducts inventory and ordering to maintain adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Understands the financial impact of housekeeping operations and contributes to propertywide goals.

Additional Expectations

  • Participates in departmental meetings and communicates clear goals and expectations.
  • Supports corrective action plans to improve guest satisfaction and operational performance.
  • Available to work nights weekends and holidays as business needs require.

  • Guest Satisfaction:Cleanliness scores meet or exceed property goals.
  • Budget Management:Labor and supply expenses remain within approved budget.
  • Team Engagement:Action plans are implemented measured and continuously improved.
