Job Summary
Use your advanced knowledge of the hardware engineering discipline processes and tools to help Resideo deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the worlds most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Resideos next generation of products by designing testing and/or validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead sustaining engineering activities including costreduction design improvement and obsolescence management (EOL) developing secondsource strategies and qualifying replacement components.
- Plan and execute project subtasks such as circuit analysis testing validation and risk assessments while ensuring compliance with product specifications and regulatory standards.
- Develop hardware test plans conduct validation troubleshoot failures using measurement equipment (oscilloscope DMM signal generators spectrum/network analyzers) and deliver datadriven corrective actions for manufacturing or field issues.
- Collaborate with procurement vendors and suppliers to evaluate cost lead times supplychain risks and ensure component and product compliance.
- Support customeracceptance and certification activities; communicate noncompliance incidents and internal audit findings to appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers technicians and crossfunctional partners ensuring project alignment and compliance with engineering methodologies.
- Prepare and lead design reviews technical summaries and presentations for leadership and external customers.
Identify and propose technical improvements enhancements and innovative approaches to advance existing products within spaceconstrained and RFsensitive designs.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- 5 years of experience in hardware engineering roles with strong grounding in analog/digital design component behavior RF constraints and PCB layout comprehension.
- Proven ability to review sustain and costoptimize existing designs including addressing component obsolescence and solving boardlevel issues without direct involvement in NPI ownership.
- Skilled in interpreting schematics block diagrams BOMs electrical specifications and supplier tradeoffs for spaceconstrained manufacturable designs.
- Handson expertise using oscilloscopes DMMs signal generators power supplies and spectrum/network analyzers for troubleshooting and rootcause analysis.
- Experienced working within structured product development processes collaborating crossfunctionally to ensure designs meet performance RF integrity cost and manufacturability requirements.
WE VALUE:
- Familiarity with DFM DFA and DFx principles.
- Experience with power electronics including: Linear and switching regulators EMI/EMC considerations grounding and layout best practices.
- Experience or knowledge with regulatory standards (UL FCC CE) is a plus.
- Understanding of manufacturing test strategies and yield optimization.
- Experience working in cost-sensitive high-volume life safety and security systems.
- Ability to balance engineering rigor with practical cost and scheduling constraints.
