Position Summary:
Columbus Crew is seeking a Coordinator Safety and Security that will be responsible for coordinating vital components of our safety and security team for day to day to operations as well as match day for all Scotts Miracle-Gro Field and Historical Crew Stadium events ranging from Crew matches to external and special event rentals.
This position is based in Columbus Ohio.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Security Technology Management:
- Set up tear down and troubleshoot Evolv Screening Technology for events.
- Oversee and maintain familiarity with security systems including 24/7 Incident Reporting System Genetec cameras and access control systems.
- Keys Access and Equipment Management:
- Manage inventory and distribution of keys and access control credentials.
- Maintain and monitor radio inventory and coordinate necessary repairs or replacements.
- Event Coordination and Leadership:
- Act as Security Manager on Duty for events ensuring smooth security operations.
- Schedule and serve as the primary contact for law enforcement fire services and medical services during events.
- Collaborate with 3rd party security contractors to manage event staffing and ensure adequate coverage.
- Budget and Planning:
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation for the safety and security department.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders including vendors and emergency services.
- Ensure security plans align with organizational goals and event-specific requirements.
- Supporters Management
- Manage relationships between club and home supporter group.
- Travel as needed on home away matches with supporter group.
- Venue Security
- Coordinate with 24/7 contracted security personnel daily operations.
- Coordinate with 24/7 security to create SOPs for daily operations.
Required Skills Experience & Abilities:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum of 3-5 years experience in a stadium and/or facility management setting.
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Prior experience in the sports and entertainment operations field.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in high-stress live event situations.
- Experience in proper staffing levels for events.
- Exceptional interpersonal leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends holidays and other non-traditional times.
- Ability to work in all environments heat cold rain and snow.
