Job Summary

  • Design and optimise machine vision systems for die inspection including illumination concepts imaging optics camera selection and image analysis algorithms
  • Characterise optical and physical properties of semiconductor materials with regard to defect detection and dimensional measurement
  • Develop and validate physical models describing forces vibrations and mechanical tolerances within sorting machinery
  • Perform cleanroom particle analyses assess contamination risks and support process qualification and cleanliness protocols
  • Conduct measurement uncertainty analyses and calibration campaigns for metrology-grade inspection systems
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers and software developers to translate physical insights into machine design specifications
  • Document experimental results derive conclusions and communicate findings to both internal teams and customers
  • A university degree (Bachelors Masters or PhD) in Physics Applied Physics or a closely related field
  • A strong foundation in optics and photonics including geometrical optics optical system design spectroscopy or imaging
  • A solid understanding of classical mechanics including dynamics kinematics and force analysis
  • Experience in experimental work and laboratory measurements with a careful and systematic approach to data collection
  • Familiarity with semiconductor materials surface properties reflectance and the physical origins of defects in dies
  • Experience in precision measurement including traceability uncertainty budgets and calibration of optical or mechanical instruments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to translate complex physical concepts into clear language for engineers developers and management
  • A structured and precise working style applying scientific rigour to documentation measurement and experimental design
